Research
Research aims at generating new products that may be adapted to the different regions where GDM works. The sector also tries to improve what is sown in every region growing soybean, maize or wheat (especially the yields). The main objective is to obtain genetic improvements. To achieve this, the team uses the best technology available at present to help with all the related activities: applied statistics, information systems, molecular laboratories, etc.
Development
Development activities focus on a wide network of tests in different locations, to identify those products with greater genetic potential for our different portfolios in the crops GDM grows. Moreover, the team works on identifying how the material works, to offer the farmer our genetics together with the best recommendations to maximize productivity in every environment.
For better results, tests are carried out following farmers’ management patterns, searching the highest representability of the information generated from the activity in different regions. More than 100 variables are assessed in each location. Among these, the weather, physical, chemical, agronomical and sanitary patterns. All the contents generated pass to a data collection and processing system.
Production
The mission of the Production sector is to care for the demands of the Commercial area, by offering seeds with high levels of purity and quality.
The process includes multiple generations to increase the volume of each product. This starts by passing a few kilos of each variety from the Research to the Production area and it ends when the bags are sold to multipliers / cooperatives / licensees.
Marketing
The mission of the Marketing team is to design the commercial strategy of every brand, so that it reaches the target public, and at the same time, design a business model that will be attractive for multipliers, who are our strategic partners.
Moreover, the Marketing team develops a communication strategy for each of the brands so that they are differentiated in the market and are recognized by their identity and use.
Commerce
The Commercial team is GDM’s connection with the market.
The main objective of this sector is to carry out GDM’s commercial strategies, generating demand for each of our products and managing the relationships with our multipliers. This is achieved from selling the original seed to defining the actions plans together, and everything in between.
The Commercial team guides and helps each and every partner plan strategies, develop production plans, and secure sales. It is essential that the team maintain a deep knowledge of the regions where it operates, to be efficient throughout every step of the commercial process
